As the name suggests, Tadiandamol in Kannada means a large mountain. It is true to its name as Tadiandamol is the highest peak in Coorg or Kodagu district sitting at the south-eastern part of Coorg. Standing tall at 5735 feet the mountain offers one of the most stellar views overlooking the shola forest range.
Tadiandamol trek route is one of its kind as you get to pass through waterfalls which are of the perfect size to take a small/quick refreshment break. How do I get to Tadiandamol?
One of the most common questions are "How can I go to Tadiandamol from Bangalore", Well here is the answer to it. Overnight journey from Bangalore would be ideal as you start around 9 PM from Bangalore with sufficient Chai/Snacks break along the way would get you to madikeri by early morning 5 AM. Further continuing the journey for 35 km will take you to the Kakkabe town which is also the base camp of Tadiandamol Trek.

How do I get to Tadiandamol Peak?
Tadiandamol Trek Start Point - If you are coming by a heavy vehicle like Bus, Tempo Traveller or Minibus it is advisable to park at Nalknad Palace to trek Tadiandamol. It would also serve as good place to stock up your energy bar and water bottles as you find small shops here and most importantly there is no parking fee as well.
Tadiandamol Trek Viewpoint - If you are coming by Car or SUV, there is a motorable road which will take you to the intermediate viewpoint which is 1.9 Kms from the Nalknad Palace. Beyond this point trekking is the only way to reach the peak! (No shortcuts to success eh!)
Tadiandamol Trek Forest Entry Point - This is the place where you take forest permission for trekking, it costs around Rs. 20 per head and it's located 300m from the viewpoint and 2.2 Km from the Nalknad Palace parking spot.
Again if you had missed to buy refreshments, this would be your last point to get them packed.
Camping at Tadiandamol - This point is known as the BIG ROCK, about 2.1 Km from the forest entry point you shall find the camping site. Since it is not advisable to camp at the peak as it gets too windy, this place makes it ideal for camping and pitching your tent. Tadiandamol Peak - Continuing your trekking post a much needed break, in about 1.5 Km you would be reaching the peak. The trail going to peak is narrow and steep which makes walking even few meters feel like a lot!
